Dr. Reyes Receives Physician Service Excellence Award (June 2010)

Pathologist Francisco Reyes, M.D., was named the recipient of the WMHS Physician Service Excellence Award for the quarter.  His nominators cited his respectful and caring attitude, his compassion and sincerity, as well as his fair-minded approach to issues.  Dr. Reyes was also singled out for his humanitarian efforts, his great sense of humor, and his leadership of the Medical Staff.  This is a well deserved honor for Dr. Reyes, who is retiring this summer.

Dr. Saheta Receives Physician Service Excellence Award (2009)

Cardiologist Narayan Saheta, M.D., was named the recipient of the Physician Service Excellence Award.  The award, which is being given for the second time, was developed by the Service Excellence Physician Recognition Committee and was presented to Dr. Saheta at the general Medical Staff meeting in February.

Dr. Saheta garnered several nominations from colleagues who cited his caring and compassionate nature as well as his unwavering dedication to his patients.  He is a well-liked and respected member of the medical staff with a strong work ethic.  Dr. Saheta is known for being thorough and takes the time to listen to his patients’ concerns and makes sure they understand everything about their care.  He has a holistic approach to patient care and does not focus solely on cardiac issues.

Dr. Saheta has a quiet sense of humor, a professional attitude and appearance, and is very respectful to the hospital staff.  He never appears to be in a hurry or rush anyone into something before they are sure about it.  Dr. Saheta has been described as resourceful, courteous, flexible and enthusiastic about learning new things that can improve the outcomes of his patients.  

Board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Saheta has been a member of the medical staff since 1976.  He served as the president of the WMHS medical staff in 2002-2003 and held several leadership positions in the Cardiology Department.  Dr. Saheta is a member of the Cumberland Cardiovascular Associates practice.
