WMHS Issues Hospital Visitation Advisory

Maryland is one of many states currently reporting widespread outbreaks of flu, and an increasing number of cases are occurring in Western Maryland. The Western Maryland Health System is strongly advising persons with any symptoms of the flu, a cold, an upper respiratory infection, or gastrointestinal illnesses to refrain from visiting patients in the hospitals or residents at the Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Although patients and nursing home residents appreciate visits from their family and friends, visits from persons with the flu or other illnesses can put the patients and residents at risk for those illnesses or other complications.
