Regional Cancer Team Captures Spirit Award at Relay for Life

Members of the team representing the WMHS Regional Cancer Center are picture at the 2008 Relay for Life sponsored by the Allegany County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, which was held on June 6 and 7 at Allegany College of Maryland. The team won the "Spirit" Award and raised over $14,000 with more money expected to be added to that total. WMHS was represented by 42 team members that included staff from the Regional Cancer Center and Business Office, along with patients and other members of the community. One of the major contributions for the team came from the WMHS Employees’ Caring Fund. Shown presenting a check for $3,000 to team captain Donna Huff (Cancer Registrar) is Caring Fund President Mike Dawson (Community Relations).
