Volunteers in this area will be specially trained to do rehab assisting duties unique to this unit. Those interested in this opportunity should be able to push a wheel chair, lift some items (nothing over 40 lbs.), be willing and able to learn about the new unit and how it operates.
Home Care/Home Hospice:
This area is looking for a volunteer to help with office-type work like putting together charts, filing, etc. This is located in the former Sister’s quarters adjacent to Braddock Hospital Campus.
Emergency Department – Memorial Campus:
This area is looking for patient advocates to enhance patient care and be an advocate for the patient and family while being treated. Those interested in this position will complete Patient Advocate volunteer training to learn how to better meet the needs of this area. The hours most needed are from 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights.

The Wellness Center is looking for a volunteer greeter to greet and welcome patients as they enter the building. The ideal volunteer for this position should exhibit good interpersonal skills, patience and kindness.
4 South at Memorial Campus
We are looking for some volunteer sitters to be with patients. This requires no special skill other than to sit with a patient to keep them company. All days and hours are needed.
Meals on Wheels – Emergency Packers Needed:
If you are willing and able to substitute in an emergency as a packer for Meals on Wheels (especially in bad weather days when schools are only on a 2 hour delay), please let us know. Perhaps you live close to the hospital or have reliable transportation and would not mind helping out in an emergency? You can be included in the “emergency packer” list. The regular substitute packer list is getting low as well. If you can sub pack on only good weather days, we would also like to know that as well. If you are willing and able to substitute as a packer for Meals on Wheels, please call Lois Taylor at 301-723-3750.
Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Some volunteers are needed to help the residents with activities. If interested, please contact Mary Ellen Wigger at 301-689-0500.
