Cumberland Joins Churchill Downs in
Kentucky Derby Celebration

The 5th Annual WMHS Derby Day Party was held on Saturday, May 5 at the Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort. The event was filled with exciting gaming, betting, magnificent prizes, delicious food, plus traditional Ladies' & Men's hat contests, and the ever popular Corporate Sponsor Turtle Race. Over 100 guests joined in the festivities which raised an estimated $14,000 to help benefit various health care related scholarships supported through the WMHS Foundation. Together, the crowd also enjoyed a live, large-screen broadcast of the 133rd Annual Kentucky Derby race. Street Sense, the 9-2 favorite, rallied from 19th under jockey Calvin Borel, to pass the pacesetting Hard Spun in the stretch, drawing away to an exciting 2 ¼-length victory. Finally, the proud winner of this year's Corporate Sponsor Turtle Race was Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty, under the careful and disciplined direction of "turtle trainer", Jack McMullen, Jr. We wish to acknowledge and thank the following 2007 Derby Day Corporate Sponsors for their generosity and support:
