Prostate Cancer Screening

The Western Maryland Health System, in cooperation with local Urologists Drs. Matthew Allaway and Vasil Parousis, and the American Cancer Society, will be offering prostate screening (screening includes digital rectal exam and PSA blood test) to men who meet the following criteria:

  • Men ages 50-70 who have not had a PSA or digital rectal exam in the last 12 months.
  • Men ages 40-75 who have a family history of prostate cancer and/or are African American.
  • Men who have never been diagnosed or treated for prostate cancer.
  • Men who have not seen a urologist in the last 12-24 months for any condition and/or are being followed by the urologist for that condition.

Cost of the screening is $10 and will be offered for one day only. The screening site will be at the Western Maryland Health System's Regional Cancer Center on the Braddock Campus. Appointments will be given on a first come, first served basis and will be scheduled according to availability.
