Immunization Program

Keeping our employees free of communicable illness is important to workplace productivity and helps to lower lost-time illness and health insurance costs. Immunizations for some infectious diseases, such as Hepatitis B, are mandated under OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen regulations. Vaccines against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, a combination of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, and influenza are available through our Occupational Health Services. PPD skin testing is also available and on-site flu shots can also be scheduled.

Mask Fit/Pulmonary Function Testing

OSHA recommends that mask fit testing to be performed annually for employees covered under the respiratory protection program. Pulmonary function testing (PFT) is at the examining physician’s discretion, but is an integral part of the program. As part of this program, UPMC Western Maryland Occupational Health also offers physician review of the OSHA respiratory questionnaire and the accompanying physical examination. UPMC Western Maryland can provide all of the above services in-house as well as on-site to meet the needs of your business.
