2009 Recipients of Values in Action Award

Linda Thomas, December 2009 Recipient

An employee since 1993, Linda was selected as the Values in Action award winner for December. She works as a medical office assistant for the WMHS Clinics and Practices. Linda is an excellent employee with a positive attitude and a wonderful talent for getting things done. She works in a variety of settings and easily adjusts to her surroundings. Linda is a team player and a compassionate advocate for patients and co-workers. She is a great resource to WMHS.

Diane Kenner, November 2009 Recipient

Congratulations to Diane Kenner, 3 South Braddock Campus, on being named November’s Values in Action award winner. Diane has been an employee for 24 years. She is a very hard worker and a dedicated caregiver. Diane always anticipates what her patients’ needs are and alerts their nurses when are needed. She also has a good rapport with patients, families, and co-workers. Diane has a great sense of humor and a wonderful attitude. She is a valuable asset to WMHS.

Kim Logsdon, October 2009 Recipient

An employee for 7 years, Kim was named the WMHS Values in Action Award recipient for the month of October. She is an aide in the Housekeeping Department at Braddock. Kim was nominated because she is known to be a team player, promotes a positive work environment, and is respectful to patients, families, and co-workers. She is described as courteous, helpful, neat and very organized. Kim brings a cheerful smile to work every day and it helps brighten everyone’s day. She is a great asset to her department and WMHS.

Beth Broadwater, September 2009 Recipient

An employee with 21 years of experience, Beth was selected as the WMHS Values in Action Award recipient for the month of September. She is a unit secretary on the 4 North nursing unit on the Braddock campus. Beth is an outstanding employee who keeps everything running smoothly with her excellent organizational skills and intuitive knack for anticipating the needs of both the staff and patients. Co-workers say she is respectful, caring, energetic, polite and very efficient. Beth often goes above and beyond the call of duty, and has been described as the glue that holds her unit together.

Mary Lou Mosbey, August 2009 Recipient

An employee since 2004, Mary Lou was selected as the WMHS Values in Action Award recipient for the month of August. She is a mental health professional in Emergency Mental Health at Braddock. Mary Lou is an excellent employee and leader who is a thoughtful advocate for patients and their families. She is a team player and always remains calm in stressful situations, helping everyone around her stay grounded. Co-workers describe Mary Lou as reliable, efficient, respectful and compassionate.

Crystal Gardner, July 2009 Recipient

An employee for seven years, Crystal was selected as the Western Maryland Health System’s Values in Action Award recipient for the month of July. She is a nurse on the High-Level Care Unit on the Memorial Campus. Crystal is an outstanding employee with a positive attitude and a gentle, caring touch. She is always available to lend a hand, give advice and is a valuable resource for the High-Level Care Unit. Congratulations, Crystal!

Lori Evans, June 2009 Recipient

An employee since 1988, Lori was selected as the Western Maryland Health System Values in Action Award recipient for the month of June. She is a medical lab technician and works throughout the health system’s Laboratory, including Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology. She joined the Lab at Braddock 21 years ago and has been employed there ever since. Congratulations, Lori!

Julie Kenney, May 2009 Recipient

An employee since 1994, Julie was selected as the Western Maryland Health System’s Values in Action Award recipient for the month of May. Julie works as an operator in the Communications Department on the Braddock campus, where she works the evening shift on the switchboard.

Missy McCloskey, March 2009 Recipient

An employee since 1991, Missy was selected as the Western Maryland Health System’s Values in Action recipient for the month of March. Missy is the coordinator for the health system’s Dialysis Unit, where she is responsible for the daily operation of the unit.
